The move has been prompted by the growing number of its members interested in working outside of the United Kingdom and Ireland.
A guide to working internationally contains general information, tips and contacts for working in planning around the world.
It has been designed as a comprehensive guide for both individual members and independent consultancies looking to expand beyond the UK and Ireland.
Peter Geraghty, chair of the RTPI international committee, said:
“Planning is an international profession and our members’ skills and experience is highly sought after around the world.
We’ve noticed a growing interest from our members in working outside of their home country and think they’ll find this guide an incredibly valuable resource.”
The RTPI has recently provided advice to members about the current global challenges facing society and the international commitments to address them.
Members interested in international planning issues can join RTPI International for the latest news, information and international developments.
RTPI members who are interested in working internationally are invited to attend a careers surgery at the Planning Convention in June.
RTPI international officer Marion Frederiksen will be available to give one-to-one advice about working outside the UK and Ireland.
